Merry Christmas, Christians !by Francois TremblayLet’s set the record straight. Christmas is NOT a Christian holiday. Christmas has NEVER been a Christian holiday. In fact, Christians have traditionally been AGAINST Christmas. It’s only in recent decades that Christian fundamentalists have tried to claim Christmas in the name of their childish religion. Anyone who knows the history of Christmas would laugh at the suggestion that it has anything to do with Jesus or Christianity. It existed far before Christianity and will continue to exist long after it. For all of you Christians who decorate trees, remember that you’re sinning against God : Jeremiah 10:3-4 Jeremiah 3:13 Also remember that historically in the United States, the Christian version of Christmas was about dressing up as a woman or a bishop, getting into a drunken revelry, and breaking in rich people’s homes. That was the “meaning of Christmas” for the Pilgrims. The Christmas we know today is Pagan in origin, every single element of it is Pagan, and the very fact that we have such a Christmas is anti-Christian. So, dear Christians, I wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS ! It’s our holiday, but you’re welcome to it. Last updated: 12/06/05 |
