Cashing in on religion (April 4, 2005, 11:43:29 PM) |
|
It seems that Mel's movie has made those in the TV industry take notice of the significant cash rewards of "doing it right." There are a number of them who see religion as a chance to cash in and there are a few shows that may just make the cut. Apparently this is not just some kind of fluff type shows to get a religious audience: quote:
Traditionally soft-focused spirituality, exemplified by "Touched by an Angel (search)" and "Joan of Arcadia (search)," is giving way to programs rooted in specific religions and their elements. |
quote:
"If you're going to depict spirituality on television, to reach the `Passion of the Christ' audience, it has to resonate as truth, as authentic, if that's what you're going for," said Gerbrandt, who said he was speaking as both an analyst and a Christian. |

When the Israelites replaced El with his son Yhvh it was only a matter of time before Yhvh's son would one day replace him. |
